StarLac® combines two excipients that have been firmly established in the pharmaceutical industry for decades: 85 % alpha-lactose monohydrate and 15 % white native corn starch. Both components are of natural origin and are traditionally used as filler and filler with moderate disintegration properties, respectively.

Through innovative co-processing by spray-drying, a novel, monoparticulate excipient is created. StarLac® offers improved tableting performance and enhanced flow properties – ideal for the formulation of oral solid dosage forms.

Benefits

  • Excellent compactibility
  • Excellent flowability
  • Rapid, hardness-independent tablet disintegration
  • Compaction and hydration properties do not dendent on hydrophobic lubricant type or level

Areas of Application

  • Direct compression
