InhaLac® 500
Premium micronized DPI alpha-lactose monohydrate – Ph. Eur., USP-NF, JP, ChP
Fine milled DPI lactose further enhances aerodynamic performance, promoting efficient dispersion and reducing agglomeration in inhalation devices. Micronized DPI lactose, with an even smaller particle size, is particularly effective for modifying powder cohesion and achieving precise drug-carrier interactions, ensuring optimal deep lung deposition.

InhaLac® 500 is a micronized lactose monohydrate with 90 % of particles ≤ 10 µm. It was specifically developed for use in tertiary DPI formulations where precise fine-tuning of aerosolization and API detachment is required. Due to its high specific surface area, InhaLac® 500 promotes co-agglomeration with the active ingredient, thereby enhancing drug dispersion upon inhalation. Typical use concentrations are up to 10 %. At higher levels, flowability may be impaired – therefore, careful formulation adjustment is recommended.
In addition, InhaLac® 500 is an excellent choice for the production of soft pellets, which typically consist solely of API and fine lactose.
