FlowLac® 90
Premium spray-dried alpha-lactose monohydrate – Ph. Eur., USP-NF, JP, ChP
Spray-dried lactose, such as FlowLac®, is produced by spray-drying a fine milled alpha-lactose monohydrate suspension, resulting in a porous, spherical morphology with smooth surface properties. This enhances flowability, making it ideal for direct compression in high-speed tableting operations. Unlike crystalline alpha-lactose monohydrate, spray-dried lactose monohydrate contains a certain amount of amorphous lactose, which enables plastic deformation during compaction and results in significantly improved tablet compactibility. The combination of amorphous and crystalline forms creates a synergistic effect, leading to superior binding properties and reduced tablet friability.

FlowLac® 90 is a spray-dried alpha-lactose monohydrate designed for direct compression applications. Its optimized amorphous content enhances compactibility, while its narrow particle size distribution ensures excellent flowability and minimal dust generation. These properties make it ideal for formulations requiring high tablet hardness and uniformity.
